We are very pleased to welcome Ed Burnett back to the farm on 22 September to run a day of basket making. Many of those who came to Ed’s course in May wanted to come back and do more and several others couldn’t make that day, so here’s another chance.
If you’ve never done anything remotely willowy or baskety, don’t worry, there’s no need to bring any experience. However, if you have done a bit, Ed will refresh your skills and perhaps add some new techniques to your reportoire. Everyone will leave having made a round basket using some of Wassledine’s best willow.
Ed is a local craftsman who, as well as baskets, makes furniture, is a turner and is well known locally for his wonderful carvings in wood. He’s an enthusiastic and patient tutor; all in all a really nice bloke.
The course will be held in our cattle shed in Gravenhurst (no cows though). It’s in a lovely location with great views. Whilst the barn’s under cover, it has an open front so please wear warm clothes if it’s getting chilly by then. Camping toilet.
Cost – £65 to include all materials, tea, coffee, biscuits, cake and fruit. Please bring your own lunch. Bring secateurs if you have them but there will be spares available.
Special offer – book both Ed’s and Martin Hazell’s spoon carving course the previous weekend for only £120.
