Well into willow cutting

cut willow ready to be sorted

Despite the blooming cold weather and very un-British snow sitting on the ground for a week, we have made a lot of progress cutting willow over the last couple of days. Armed with a new (well second-hand),  power scythe, bought from a lovely bloke in Bury St. Edmonds, cutting has speeded up compared with previous years. The wind picked up this afternoon and felt just as people around here describe as ‘lazy’. I was very pleased this evening, to get inside and embrace 2 cups of tea and several slices of toast.

It feels good to have made some progress. I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the stuff and making some things.
